What is a doula?

A compassionate person that provides comfort, encouragement, and support during one of life’s most significant moments. Someone who empowers, comforts, supports, and advocates for the people they care for. They are skilled listeners, empathetic people that remind others of their own immense strength and power. A guide, a friend, a safe space.

Your story matters.

Ever since I was small, I remember being fascinated with humans; the way we are, the feelings we experience, the sound of laughter, the things that make each person so uniquely different, but mostly, how we begin. Birth has been one of those things in life I've been drawn to; maybe it's the strength, ferocity, instinct that's been the thing for me. I think it's probably a combination. But what I do know is that there is something inherently magical and otherworldly about who we are before, during, and after we become parents. However it unfolds, your story matters, it's beautiful, complicated, wonderful, and busy and to me, that's the most incredible journey.

After supporting countless families since 2017 in their birth space, I decided it was time to make things official, and am delighted to say I’ve completed my doula certification after training with Nurturing Birth and continue to broaden my knowledge with books and courses, and of course, learning directly from my incredible families during their births. As a birth doula and photographer, I'm driven to empower women and birthing people on their journeys. I'm passionate about embracing the power of people, celebrating the richness of individual experience, and recognising the wonder of childbirth. I’m also about having a dang-good time.

  • • Two 2 hour antenatal sessions

    • Birth preference guidance and how to prepare for your birth and postpartum journey

    • Access to my bank of books and resources and local and trusted businesses (some discounts available eg. hypnobirthing, yoga etc.)

    • Available for support via WhatsApp and phonecalls when needed from booking to 8 weeks postpartum

    • On call 24/7 from 38w pregnant to birth and up to 3 hours post birth.

    • Emotional and physical support during labour - we will discuss your preferences during our antenatal visit.

    • Two 2 hour postpartum sessions (additional hours can be purchased at a discount as a current client)

    • Please note that this package does NOT include photography but absolutely can be added on by your 37-week mark - photography fees must be paid by your 37 week mark before they can be added on.

    • Support available within 1.5 hours from postcode CF11. Please enquire for out of radius births.

    • Flexible payment plans available and lower income family discount.

  • "I am a midwife and attended a home birth that Hannah was photographing. I was welcomed into the home by Hannah and assumed she was a family member as she had such a lovely rapport with the couple! The labour room was large, however, once you put a pool in it and lots of people there was not much space for me to work. I did not notice Hannah at all during the birth. I had space to work safely. She even bought me a cup of coffee whilst I was writing up my delivery notes! Hannah is a kind, caring individual and would make any birth experience a positive one."

  • 10% discount for those who've gone through private fertility treatment on full doula and birth photography services.

  • Flexible payment plans available - all that's needed to get save your time frame (37w - birth) is the 25% deposit, the remainder is due by 37w however can be split up into 3 payments or more if needed.

  • Hire for the birth pool is free for those who need it. I can help you source the extra parts before your 37w mark.

  • Every year I am able to offer one pay-what-you-can for full doula services in Cardiff only. Please be mindful that I can only offer one discounted place per year. If you feel that you would truly benefit from my doula support, I encourage you to apply.
